The Hunchback of Notre Dame

The Book The Hunchback of Notre Dame written by Victor Hugo is a good book. I read this book, because Victor Hugo is my favorite author. I really enjoyed Les Miserables which was also written by him. He wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dame very well.
I found it hard to put this book down after I started reading it. Victor Hugo's descriptive writing made it feel like you were really there in Paris France. When I read this book I not only got a story from it, but I learned about how life was like in medieval Paris Fance.
Although I really liked the setting and the way the book was written, I did not care for the plot that well. Les Miserables has a good plot, but I was surprised when I read The Hunchback of Notre Dame, because I did not care for the plot at all. One reason is because I when you read a book you are suppose to get somthing out of it or learn somting from the story. In Hunchback I thought that it really did not teach the reader anything. Also I did not like the ending very well. Most of the characters dies at the end of the book. Well many of the characters die in Les Miserables also but that was because most of the characters fought a war. Yet in Hunchback the characters really did not need to die. The book really did not have many happy things in it. It is a really sad book. Sad books and movies don not bother me that much, becasue I know that they are not real.
Other then not having a very good plot and being too sad I did like the book. I think the book is for a certain type of people. Some people would like this book and others would not. If you like books in interesting places, that are well written, descriptive, and somtiems hard to understand, and you do not mind sad books you would probbaly like this book.
