Pros: Excellent pacing keep reader engaged, suspenseful character development, avoids typical clichés.
Cons: May be a bit out of genre for Koontz fans, no other real drawbacks.
The Bottom Line: This book is one of the good ones, for a beach read this summer you can't beat it.
Review: The Good Guy Author: Dean Koontz Publisher: Bantam First released: 2007 Genre: Suspense/Crime Format: Fiction/Hardcover ISBN: 0553804812 ----- Story Overview ----- Tim Carrier is one of those ...

The Good Guy - A Good Read, No a GREAT Read (Suspense, Not Horror)!

Pros: Strong, fascinating characters, original plot, over-the-top suspense!
Cons: None unless you think our government has no secrets.
The Bottom Line: One of the best suspense novels I've read, with fascinating characters and great plot twists to enliven a chase story with attitude.
Review: Dean Koontz, who I first discovered as a "horror writer", much prefers to be thought of as a THRILLER writer, and it's books like this one that have established him firmly in that genre. There is nothing at all supernatural or other-worldly in this ...

Pros: This novel is full of suspense and action from beginning to end.
Cons: Some of the descriptions are a little drawn out.
The Bottom Line: Another one of Dean Koontz suspenseful and action packed novels. A must read.
Review: The Good Guy is full of suspense right from the beginning. The characters (Tim, Linda, Kravet) are all interesting to say the least and they all have their own stories to keep you captivated with the novel. The way their lives entwine is not only ...

Timothy Tries to Save a Stranger in The Good Guy by Dean Koontz |

|
Pros: Entertaining, suspenseful plot.
Cons: Not as strong as some earlier books by Koontz.
The Bottom Line: The Good Guy could have been a bit better, but it was still an entertaining book that fans of Koontz may enjoy.
Review: It was suggested to me almost ten years ago now that I might enjoy Dean Koontz books. I picked up a few from the library and was quickly hooked on his books and started buying his new books as they were released. In the last few years, some of his ...

Pros: Interesting storyline, exciting read, no horror story
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: For those who were afraid to read Koontz's horror stories, this is an excellent read.
Review: I enjoyed this very exciting thriller. There is absolutely no hint of the supernatural in this book as in most of Koontzs other books. This story reminded me a little of The Last Breed by Louis LAmour. In both stories there is a ...

Pros: Storyline concept
Cons: Storyline execution
The Bottom Line: An average book that is worth a one time read.
Review: Dean Koontz seems to get further away from his horror/supernatural storylines with each new book he writes. In some instances he produces brilliant mystery/thriller novels. In others he appears to have trouble stretching the story past a short ...

Pros: quick read, suspenseful, several surprises, worth a look
Cons: lacks originality and passion, cookie cutter style,
The Bottom Line: A quick read that gives the reader glimpses of classic Koontz, yet a full return never materializes. Worth renting from the library for a lazy afternoon.
Review: The Good Guy is yet another notch on Koontzs suspense-thriller belt, but that's about all. Average and easy going, Tim Carrier is a bachelor and a stone mason by trade
what most people would call a mans man
he keeps to ...
