The Death of Superman — Doomsday Finally Reaches The Man of Steel

Date of Review:  Sep 5, 2007
The Bottom Line: This is only the first chapter in the death and life of Superman. It's a good start but his whole death feels rushed into getting to the real story.
Review: Where were you when Superman died?

I was at a comic book shop waiting in line to buy Superman #75 (vol. 2) back in 1993. So were a lot of other people, and I mean a lot. Word about the Man of Steel's demise caught like wildfire amongst...

Superman dies in pointless slugfest with the enigmatic Doomsday. Is he gone for good?

Date of Review:  Dec 28, 2001
The Bottom Line: Only worth reading if you just need to know everything there is to know about how they killed Superman.
Review: For whatever reason, the decision had been made to kill Superman.

I have seen some very contradictory "facts" and theories on what DC's exact motivations were in doing this storyline, and whether or not the editorial staff ever seriously...

The Death of Superman!!!

Date of Review:  Feb 17, 2003
The Bottom Line: Everything came together, story, art, dialogue, colors, all to make an enjoyable whole from 7 separate books.
Review: If you want to talk about marketing, what DC Comics did in 1993 was, not only a bold move, but a brilliant one as well.

Everyone knows nobody REALLY dies in comic books, but at least when they do die, they stay dead for a while, at least...

Can you believe a Superman can die?

Date of Review:  Apr 2, 2008
The Bottom Line: With the writing and art, this is a must own for anyone!
Review: The Death of Superman was one of "THE" events in comic book history. Mention it to almost anyone and they will recall hearing about it. I remember reading about it in Newsweek!

The Death of Superman actually begins in the then Justice...
