My favorite and could very well become yours too!

I first read this book at the tender age of 14 years old when I gazed at its magnificent size in my high school library and having a fixation with big books at the time decided to snatch it up. What made me read the book was pride....so I could boast I had read such a big book, so I could brag on how I read a classic. I am an avid reader, I adore books but what I read in this book took me totally by surprise. I can still remember lying in bed at 3am trying to tear my eyes away from the pages and running home from school to absorb myself in the story of Edmond Dantes once again.

The start of this story speaks of hope, joy, pure innocent love and promise between two young people, that of the young sailor, Edmond Dantes, and his bride to be. Through the rapid success of young Dantes place in the nautical world, there are those who wish to cast a black cloud on his bright future and plot to destroy his chances of becoming a captain. On the very eve of his wedding he is falsely arrested and imprisoned in the island fortress of Château d'If. However while there he learns of a hidden treasure from a fellow prisoner and the tale that unfolds thereafter grips you until the last page. Without giving away too much he does manage to escape and find this treasure and with it carries out his revenge on those who destroyed his life in such a way that you cannot help but admire the tactics he uses.

Do yourself a favour and read this book. It is so rich, it is so intense and it sucks you in. Forget the size, don't be intimidated by it because if you do start the book, the next thing you know you will be halfway through it and dreading its end. It is a fantastically written story. Everyone I have recommended this book to has loved it and it has become their favourite. It’s my favourite and could easily be yours too.
