Geoffrey Chaucer was brilliant. You have to understand the history behind his stories. This particular book was written about pilgrims who went to worship at the Canterbury Cathedral following the martyrdom of Thomas Beckett. It almost seems like a true story when you link it with the history. Chaucer puts a realism into his characters that you can see in each of their tales. The Miller's character is parallel to his tale by the vulgarity that he shows. If you like classic literature you'll love the Canterbury Tales.
