Pros: Advocates breaking free of the rat-race, and useful for anyone particularly young adults.
Cons: Possibly depress those who are already stuck in the described rat-race, or disappoint those who never realize their dreams of the first million.
Review: Me? Finance? *Aghast* Typically, I'd bolt for the nearest door at the mention of anything to do with finance or economics. However, my dad was in town recently - just for a day. It happens my brother and his wife had their second daughter on the same day...

Pros: Quick read, written in very simple terms
Cons: A little repetitive at times
Review: Rich Dad, Poor Dad describes what Robert Kiyosaki learned as a child from his two "Dads" -- his real father, a highly educated school administrator (the Poor Dad), and the father of his childhood friend Mike who owned several small...

This is a book of ideas, not a manual for making money!

Pros: Helps those who want to help themselves!
Cons: Only Helps those who want to help themselves!
The Bottom Line: This is not a manual for making money. It's a fun read that slaps you with a large dose of reality and you'll love it for doing so!
Review: I disagree with a lot of people who read this book with the idea that it was a manual for becoming wealthy.
Sure they are tons of "financial freedom" and "millionaire in a minute" books found on the same book shelf that you may have seen or... |

Pros: It defines the problem, explains why it's there, and gives a detailed, workable solution
Cons: None
Review: Are you a highly-compensated employee who has, in the past ten years, struggled through mergers, acquisitions, down-sizings, right-sizings, outsourcing, layoffs, and multiple moves to different locations, starting over with different companies, wondering...

Pros: Common sense approach, easy to read and understand.
Cons: First three chapters too repetitive, too long.
Review: For those of us who are "Financially Illiterate," this book certainly gives us quite an education in simple, down-to-earth terms. I learned the difference between assets and liabilities (I never thought that owning a house would be considered...

Pros: The book gives years of experience into an easily understood novel that soaks in quickly.
Cons: The beginning was rough-rich dad spoke holding back information to have Robert teach himself.
The Bottom Line: Rich Dad Poor Dad is an easy reader and has more valuable information than any other financial book I've read. It teaches easy-to-learn concepts.
Review: Rich Dad Poor Dad is a psychological book more than anything. It teaches one to focus on the way s/he is thinking and to compare it to the way Mr. Kiyosaki imagines a rich person thinks. He is over-qualified, having bought and sold businesses, rentals, ...

Pros: Gives the reader a fresh look at how to really become financially independant.
Cons: A bit repetitive, but only to make a point.
The Bottom Line: A great book if you are even considering investing in real estate.
Review: I have read the review "How do I get out of the Rat Race?" A great review of the book in that is summarizes the main points extremely well, but I must add, the author of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" tells you exactly how to get from "A" to "B". And the answer...

Pros: Gently hammers home the six primary principles that the rich know.
Cons: None if you understand the point of the book.
The Bottom Line: Read this book, then RE-READ it. If you understand the simple, direct ideas contained here, you're well on your way to changing many lifelong mistakes.
Review: I've noticed that some readers of this book have complained that it lacks detail on how to make money, or that it's repetitive, or it's too involved in the authors philosophy.
Having read the book and after re-reading parts of it, I've... |

Pros: Easy to read, nice flow
Cons: Makes making money sound too easy
The Bottom Line: It explains how money is just an idea, not an object. Also how money shouldn't control you, you should control money.
Review: Many reviews complain about how this book does not give enough in-depth advice and recommendations. But those people just don't get the true understanding of this book. I'll explain..
This book is about a way of life, a way of doing things.... |

Pros: life changing
Cons: Only three books in the series, I wish there were more!
Review: It wasn't until I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad that I became aware of the Rat Race that had been pulled over my eyes preventing me from achieving true financial independence. I was on track, doing everything that the world told me I needed to do in order to...
