"More? You want more?" Of course I do!

Date of Review:  Jun 13, 2001
The Bottom Line: The most accessible of the Dickens tales, Oliver Twist is a great book with a protagonist that will touch your heart.
Review: Dickens has always been a bit beyond me; I could comprehend the writing, but I couldn t enjoy it. I did wrestle my way through David Copperfield; I got 2/3 through A Tale of Two Cities; and my mom read Great Expectations aloud to me a few years ago...

Reflections of Society in Literature

Date of Review:  Mar 31, 2003
The Bottom Line: Perhaps not Dickens best work but a must read all the same.
Review: Among all of the works of Charles Dickens, perhaps none explores the plight of those least able to defend themselves in early nineteenth century England, the orphans, as does Oliver Twist. Certainly, Dickens novels invariably have some commentary on...

THERE WILL NEVER BE ANY MORE UNFORTUNATELY

Date of Review:  Mar 24, 2001
The Bottom Line: Written in a bye gone age it gives readers an insight into how life was in Victorian England. Writers today cannot surpass it.
Review: "Please Sir, I want some more"..........

I wonder if there is anybody who wouldn't be able to give the name of the poor urchin who uttered those words. Oliver Twist and the author, Charles Dickens are known to lovers of classics worldwide...

Oliver Twist: A Look at London

Date of Review:  Jan 7, 2001
Review: Oliver Twist is among the best known books by Charles Dickens. This tale of an orphans progress through 19th century London is an emotional roller coaster guaranteed and an engaging one at that. It is an adventure as well, and a murder mystery, and...

Want to cry? Read Oliver Twist

Date of Review:  Dec 14, 1999
Review: Anguish! That's all this book is through each and every page. I limit myself to one Dickens book per year after Oliver Twist because I can't handle as much heartache as he delivers any more frequently.

This is the tale of a little orphaned...

Oliver Twist is pretty good I say.

Date of Review:  Jun 25, 2001
The Bottom Line: It wasn't at all what I expected from a boy to live through.
Review: Oliver Twist is an outrageous book and is full of adventure for the first page. I think that if Charles writes a sequel to it, it would be just as fun as the first one and would be really good too. If Oliver was a real boy, then I think that he must...

A good, but hard read

Date of Review:  Apr 23, 2000
Review: If you are not familiar with Charles Dickens books, than the language will through you off at first. Though, after you get by the language, you'll find a will written and well planned out book. Oliver Twist the movie, very closely follows the book...
