by  JediKermit, top reviewer in Books ,  Oct 5, 2004
Pros: Strong characters, a fastpaced, moving story; an imaginative look at the world around us

The Bottom Line: I still remember my third grade teacher reading this to us...
Review: There are some story experiences you never forget. Reading a certain book with your parents, or reading something by yourself for the first time…reading “Harry Potter” as a college student and crying like a baby when someone died… okay, maybe only I ...

Epinions A Book That Makes Children Think

by  bkamphaus,  Oct 24, 2001
Pros: An imaginative, thought provoking work for children.
Cons: Maybe too difficult for some children.
The Bottom Line: Every child should have this book read to them at an early age, then be given the chance to read it again when they are older.
Review: I would like to start this review by acknowledging my bias. I think this is one of the best childrens' books ever written. I think it is a wonderful book for adults as well. Because of this, I will most certainly portray this book in a favorable light...

Pros: Great premise
Cons: None
Review: If you just came across the title of this book, glanced at the cover, and maybe read a sentence or two about it, you might think it was the sort of treacly children's story that would be made into a second-rate, straight-to-video animated movie. Sure,...
