A Fascinating Book That Will Open Up Your Eyes And Heart
Date of Review: Nov 9, 2008
The Bottom Line: Clark and Marty are good examples to us. I encourage you to read any other books that tell about the life of the people that went to the Western Frontier.
There are so many books out in the world today, but do you want a book that will stimulate and make you feel good? Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke is the book for you.
Price:
It's $10.99.
Location:
You can buy it at Barns and Noble, Double Day Book Club, and on Amazon.
Short Summary:
With all the trials that Marty had in losing her first husband to an accident and being pregnant she was able to meet Clark Davis and marry him. She also became a mother to Missie and she also learned to take care of a home and cook. Sometimes it wasn't easy, but she was a person who kept at a chore until she succeeded at doing it right.
What I liked about the book:
The people in the book seemed real and showed me how the Pioneers had such a hard time when going to the West. Clark worked really hard to make a good living for his family. Both Marty and Clark gained a great love for each other by working to please each other.
What I disliked about the book:
When Marty lost her husband.
Conclusion:
This is an uplifting book and it made me appreciate how two people can learn to work together to make a good life for themselves. If made me want to read more of these books. If you read this book I am sure you be as uplifted as I have been.
There are seven other books that follow this family.
