handbook of psychopathy. good reference book.

This book is structured in such a way that it is easily used as a reference to what research is indicating in the field. It is essentially a compilation of the many findings that top researchers have achieved - organized under common themes of Theory, Assessment, Clinical Issues, to name a few.

A handy reference for professionals working with populations that are more likely to score high on assessments measuring psychopathy. The handbook brings together the leading professionals studying psychopathy, to present the theories and data, so that the reader can think critically about the content (It's not one writer's personal opinions).

There is a section on treatment/prevention strategies but the direction is minimal. I doubt this is due to the editing of the book but moreso because the field of study is young and research/findings are just recently exploring interventions. I suspect there will be revisions of this handbook in years to come, as more conclusive knowledge is gained.
It may be presented as too clinical for people unfamiliar with reading research articles.
