A Walk on the Politically Incorrect Side

Date of Review:  Nov 19, 2007
The Bottom Line: If you find anything in The God Delusion at all offensive, do not read this book!
Review: …it is what all know and will admit as readily to be the fact--that in the temples adulteries are arranged, that at the altars pimping is practised, that often in the houses of the temple-keepers and priests, under the sacrificial fillets, and the...

An Atheist Manifesto Worth Reading

Date of Review:  Jun 21, 2008
The Bottom Line: This is a highly readable book expressing a very passionate, literate, argument in favor of atheism.
Review: This is an awesome book. In a season when atheist manifestos are suddenly of interest, Christopher Hitchens has written a book that nukes the competition, not so much because he invents such great and novel arguments for atheism but because he...

The Athiests Bible

Date of Review:  Mar 24, 2008
The Bottom Line: A great challenge to the 21st century - a great baptismal gift for the open minded and skeptics in your life.
Review: Hitchens lays a solid foundation to bolster the stunning title of this tome, that will make find its place along Voltaire and Camus as a must read for every serious skeptic and thinker.

I received this book as a "Christmas" gift - I'll let...

"God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything," Equals Science And Literary Sense Versus Dogma.

Date of Review:  Sep 8, 2008
The Bottom Line: This book shows the negative impact religious zealotry has often had on history. However, the author does not defend the secular persecutions of the religious folks either.
Review: First, I'm an agnostic who is too humble to dogmatically agree with the secualr atheists completely. However, this terse book does truly slap the religiously dogmatic and fanatical in the face with a cold fish of undeniable historical facts!...

A fun and thought provoking book

Date of Review:  Jul 16, 2007
Review: GOD IS NOT GREAT: HOW RELIGION POISONS EVERYTHING by CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS is a fascinating read. If you believe in God, he's not out to turn you into an atheist, but he gives a pretty compelling argument that organized religion is one of the most...

Can We Give God an Okay?

Date of Review:  Jun 6, 2008
The Bottom Line: This isn't the book that will teach you how to become an atheist. It will just make you chuckle a bit.
Review: Christopher Hitchen's "God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything" is an unapologetically, acerbic stab at the celebration and reverence of modern-day Christianity. His book recently celebrated its best-seller status. "God is Not Great" is...
