A book that stays with you throughout the years...

It isn't often that a book strikes a child as so memorable, she remembers it as an adult. From "The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" is that book for me. I would really love to see other children reading this book, loving this book as I did.

It's a step different from the Harry Potter series, but this book invokes the same amount of imagination.

Two children, a brother and sister, living in the Metropolitan Museum in NYC, and surviving alone for a time. How they manage to do this is amusing.

What is best about this book is, as you read you take in the Museum as the children in this book do. My twelve year old imagination really yearned to go to this fabulous place, I wanted to smell and explore it, touch it and feel it, and wander it alone, after all the other people had gone home.

This book sent me on many a flight of imagination, taking me out of my small town and into New York City.

I don't want to tell too much, it really will ruin the book. If you have an avid adolescent reader, this wonderful book will make a perfect gift for that child.

Then, that child too, will remember this book for years and years after reading it.
