Amazing Anne

Anne McCaffrey is undoubtedly one of the best writers in Sci-Fi/Fantasy today. This series, as well as every series she has written, is superb. She does a remarkable job in writing. While her style is simple, the story lines she comes up with are ones that will keep you up til all hours reading--you just can't put them down!
The Freedom trilogy is a wonderful example of man's continual fight for equality and freedom. No matter where our future lies, whether on Earth or in the stars, man will always desire these things, and yet at the same time, she shows some of man's least likeable traits in greed and selfishness.
Freedom's Challenge is a wonderful ending to a great story. In the final episode to this trilogy, those living on the planet come together to win their freedom. Zainal enlists the aide of several disillusioned Emassi to overthrow the Eosi. They mount a risky trip to remove the families of all the Emassi involved, including Zainal's two sons. They then prepare to wipe out the Eosi without the aide of the Farmers. While this book is the end, there is still room for more to be written about this planet's future...another one would be great!
As far as I am concerned, there are no other writers who compare. Anything you read from Anne McCaffrey will be great. The Dragonriders of Pern series is the one that hooked me forever as a McCaffrey fan. Pick up a few and enjoy!
