Food Network Gives You Favorite Recipes From Your Favorite Chefs

Okay I will admit it I am a food junkie. I absolutely love to cook and the unfortunate aspect of this is that my waist size suffers for it. I love the food network and though I do have my favorite chefs (Paula Deen, Rachael Ray, and Tyler Florence being my top 3 favorites) I watch most of the chefs in this cook book. Food Network has put together the most loved and watched chefs together with their favorite recipes for everyone to enjoy.

Not only did food network bring together eleven amazing chefs into one great cook book, but a portion of the sales from this cook book goes to the chefs favorite charities.

The list of chefs in this cook book are: Alton Brown, Bobby Flay, Dave Lieberman, Emeril Lagasse, Giada De Laurentiis, Mario Batali, Paula Deen, Rachael Ray, Tyler Florence, and Wolfgang Puck as well as the Food Network Kitchen.

The charities a portion of the sales from this cookbook goes to are:
1.) Heifer International- Has fought world hunger and poverty for almost 60 years by providing food and income -producing animals, along with training in sustainable agriculture, to millions of impoverished families around the world.
2.) Second Harvest- The countrys largest hunger relief organization distributes food to the hungry via more than 200 regional food banks and food rescue organizations, feeding more than 23 million Americans every year.
3.) Emeril Lagasse Foundation- Established in 2002, seeks to inspire, mentor, and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive and creative individuals, by supporting programs and educational opportunities for children with in communities where Emeril's restaurants operate.
4.) The Meals On wheels Association Of America- Founded in 1974, it runs local meal-delivery programs around the country for the elderly and homebound, delivering a million meals a day around the country.
5.) Food Bank For New York City- The nations largest food bank collects and distributes food every day to provide more than 240,000 meals to more than 1,200 nonprofit community food programs through out the city.

Along with each of the chefs favorite recipes we find out a little more about our favorite chefs. Each of the chefs answer a few questions about themselves before they tell their favorite recipes. Along with a page of questions and answers about each of the chefs in the cook book you will find a full page picture of each one. This lets you know where one chefs recipes ends and anothers begins.

I think what I love about this cook book the most is that there is such a great variety of recipes. They go from simple and everyday meals to more fancy affairs for entertaining. There are a few recipes that are for just two people, but most of the recipes are geared towards four people. There are a few recipes large enough to entertain six to eight people as well. You will find recipes covering beef, fish, chicken, pork, and seafood as well as vegetarian and desserts.

I love this cook book because I can try recipes from chefs that I do not watch regularly. I can also try new things that maybe I had never attempted before as well as old favorites revamped. Since my daughter loves to cook with me it is nice that there are even a few kid friendly recipes that she can help out with. A few of the recipes my daughter and I have made are: corn dogs, shredded chicken and tomatillo taco's with queso fresco, cinnamon-pancetta carbonara, country fried steak, and marinated grilled flank steak with blt smashed potatoes. We look forward to trying other recipes in this cookbook.
