A Great Memoir From Soul Searching

This was recommended to me by two separate people so I thought I'd give it a try. I started with the audio book but dropped it because I didn't much care with how the story started. I ended up giving it a 2nd try by reading it and enjoyed it much more (personal preference of audio v. visual, I guess).
That means you should always try it in a different format because just the sound of the story-tellers voice might hit you the wrong way.

Anyway, I fell in love with this book!

Yes, she did throw a pity party for herself throughout the book... but that's what made it real and raw and more importantly HER memoir. I've heard she whines too much from a number of readers but I disagree. She's just setting the stage for the low point that she was in in her life.

She travels to Italy (loved this section), India (really loved this section) and Indonesia (not as good of a section). The first two settings were so well developed I just couldn't read it fast enough. But the book slowed down in the final location. I felt the author just didn't have as good of stuff to journal about and so it was just a weaker part of her journey. This did not ruin the book though!

I have to say I love the way the book ended... "Attraversiamo"! It brought a huge smile to my face.

And if you're wondering about her love life today... on her website she reports her and Felipe are still together today. Now that's a love story!
