Bram Stoker's Dracula - bloodsuckingly good!

Date of Review:  Oct 10, 2003
The Bottom Line: A classic that has stood the test of time and a very enjoyable read that was hard to put down.
Review: Bram Stoker's masterpiece of Gothic horror, Dracula, took him six years to complete from concept to publication. I'm not sure if all six years of work are evident in the finished product, but the novel certainly has weathered the passage of time...

Dare You Read It?

Date of Review:  Oct 28, 2004
The Bottom Line: It put the bite on me from the very first page.
Review: The legend of the vampire seems to be one of the most enduring of all time. Arising from superstitions and fears that have plagued mankind for centuries, vampires are the most intriguing and complex of all the monsters we have created. They threaten...

The Bottom Line: An interesting book, if not quite the horror I expected....
Review: I'm a great fan of the horror genre and in particular the works of one Stephen King, and while reading the foreword to his second novel (Salem's Lot) I discovered that he had got his main inspiration for this book from the classic vampire novel...

Immortal Dracula

Date of Review:  Dec 5, 1999
Review: This is a review of DRACULA, the original, complete novel.

Still the king of vampires, Dracula stalks our dreams. Our collective dream, the cinema, has kept him alive (or at least undead) since the days of silent films. He is one of the...

What's Halloween Without Dracula? (TDOH W/O)

Date of Review:  Oct 22, 2003
The Bottom Line: It's not what you'd expect, but still good.
Review: This review is for JiggyJay's "10 Days Of Halloween Write-Off!" Sounds scary, eh? It is just a simple review of a not so simple book, Dracula. Nothing special. Enjoy!

I'm not much of a reader. In fact, many people confuse me for an...

Date of Review:  Oct 2, 2000

A perfect pick for Halloween!!

Date of Review:  May 14, 2003
The Bottom Line: DRACULA is an astonishing novel in which you yourself, take place. It's a classic!
Review: What do you think of when you hear the name Dracula? Chances are, you probably think of vampires in the dead of the night, coffins, and lots of blood. Bram Stoker s Dracula is not only that, but so much more. There are tons of little themes and...

Despair Has its Own Calms

Date of Review:  Jan 24, 2006
The Bottom Line: Stoker penned the original Dracula, spawning dozens of copycats, and he gets props for that. Overall, the strength of the story overshadows some minor drawbacks. Worth a read.
Review: This is no love story.

Having seen "Bram Stoker's Dracula" the movie, subtitled "Love Never Dies", I expected to find the same century-long quest for lost love that I saw on the screen. What I found instead was the archetypal portrayal of...

Date of Review:  Sep 18, 2006
The Bottom Line: everyone who gets a chance should read this book. It is so deep and you can picture all of it happening in your head.
Review: In the middle of the night as I lay on my bed, noises seem to be coming from everything. I can't stop thinking about being watched. I feel as though someone is breathing over me, ready to grab my neck and start ripping their teeth in. I feel sick to...
