an eye opening book

I purchased this book shortly after giving birth to my first child. About six weeks after he arrived I became severely depressed and had to be rescued by mother who drove 1200 miles to get me. We both had heard about this book and she forced me to buy it in hopes that it would help me. Brooke Shields experience was almost identical to what I went through. The book journeys through her experiences of getting pregnant all the way to her recovery. This book is not too long and reads easily. I like that there are resources in the back of the book for people who are experiencing post-partum depression or for people who know someone who is. After reading her book I realized that anyone can experience this. It doesn't matter if you are a celebrity who seems perfect to the world or just an average woman. It made me feel human and gave me hope of recovery. Soon I was going to therapy and taking medication and within a month I was pretty much back to my old self. Thanks to the knowledge that this book provided and medication, God and my mother, husband and all of my super supportive family and friends, I recovered quickly and now I am completly enjoying being the best mother I can be. I would recommend this book to every woman who is pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or who just had a baby. Any woman who wants to be a mommy needs to read this book to further the public knowledge on this disease.
