Pros: A fine collection of excellent comic-book writing.
Cons: Somewhat jarring to flip between extremes of artwork and subject matter.
The Bottom Line: Some of the most acclaimed standalone comic book stories of the 1980s, all in one place for your reading enjoyment!
Review: Comic book writer Alan Moore is best known as the author of the stunning W
atchmen,
in my own words "the story that changed comic books forever"; he also wrote the original comic book version of V for Vendetta ...

Pros: Moore's writing (a given), majority of the artwork, some exceptional stories.
Cons: A few filler stories that are obviously filler, some less than stellar artwork.
The Bottom Line: The book is not groundbreaking on a whole, but it offers several intriguing perspectives of the mainstream DC universe.

The Bottom Line: Some authors hit their first work out of the park. Alan Moore needed some practice before hitting his home runs. With these stories, he swings and misses.
Review: Comic book fans would make Alan Moore a saint, if they could. They'd probably not stop there. Moore is worshipped for his revolutionary Watchmen, in which we see how life turns out for some super heroes long after they've hung up their ...

Pros: some awesome stories, told by one of the masters of the comic industry
Cons: stories not all that great, confusing for non-fans
The Bottom Line: Alan Moore told some great little stories in the DCU. But for the most part, these arent them.
Review: Alan Moore, as Im sure Ive remarked before, is the ultimate comic book writer. Across the universe is a collection of Moores DC stories from a brief period in the 1980s when he had already established himself as a brilliant ...
