Get on with it!

Now, I am not very old, just 14 and it is almost 6 months since i finished the book, but personally I don’t like it.

The book David Copperfield is a story of a young man's life. It is how he overcame all the struggle and strife of his life to become a rich, happy, well respected man.

Basically it is a very long very slow rags to riches novel. When I began reading it I expected it to be the best thing in the world (it was written by one of the most famous authors in history) but I was disappointed.

Don’t get me wrong, in many ways it is a good book. Most of the characters are different and inventive. The plot was the basic rags to riches plot, but it did have some good twists and turns. In fact if it wasn’t for one thing i might have really liked this book!

The one thing i despised was David Copperfield himself! He was a whiney goody goody, and everything bad seemed to happen to poor him. I know many of you may disagree, but I thought he was a very stupid character. As happy go lucky as if he was invented by Disney.

Besides that and the fact the book is 500 pages too long (it is 1000 pages), I actually like the book. It is written in a style, though hard to get used to, is fun to read. If you have a chance you should read this just because it is a classic and a well educated person seems to always have to read the classics.
