brilliant and inaccessible

very mature novel

The Bottom Line: Many can read books about the facts of slavery, and yet can never see it through the eyes of the slaves. This intricate book will open your eyes.
Review: Though the movie received a lot of reference, the book is the real source and story. The book is in a very simple language, and yet portrays such a complex novel and story line.

Toni Morrison's Beloved

The Bottom Line: A very complex novel that will require multiple readings. It is well structured, but seems to repeat many other Morrison themes and styles. Don't choose as your first Morrison reading.
Review: this was the third Morrison book I've read and I can probably say it was my least favorite. I should note that I have only read it once, and many of the more positive reviewers here seem to recommend multiple readings.

Strange but Entertaining
