WARNING, Please Read!

The reason I bought this book is because I thought Bobbi Brown's last book "Bobbi Brown Beauty" was very informative and this book "Bobbi Brown Teenage Beauty" was a best seller. I did not pay the full cover price of $38 CAD. Instead I paid $20 CAD for this book and I still think it is not worth it. If you're looking to read this book, read this review first! I can sum up the whole book in a few sentences. I'M NOT KIDDING!

The book starts off with a preface written by Brooke Shields who talks about struggling with her "inner beauty" during her high school years. Then Bobbi Brown talks a little bit about her own high school experiences and writes a chapter on finding a good role model that looks like yourself. This constitutes 1/4 of the book and then the rest can be summarized by these words: Teenagers should have natural looking makeup. Don't worry about contouring techniques. Do wear lip gloss over lip stick. For eye shadow, lilac is the best color for everyone. Also try shimmery light colors. For blush, cream blush is the best and to cover dark eye circles use concealer....AND THAT'S ABOUT IT!

This book hardly gives any techniques to applicating makeup. Besides what I have written, the rest of the book is filler. It has nice pictures througout which is the only thing I enjoyed about this book. Near the end, there's a story about Bobbi Brown's teenage cousin and how she has a makeover slumber party where Bobbi does everyone's makeup. Come on, how interesting is that? It's all USELESS FILLER!

I don't even think this book is worth paying half the cover price for if I can summarize this whole book into one opinion; And I'm a teenager, I should know.
