Remembering The Fallen

Mark Bowden helped bring back what happened in Somalia October 3-4,1993. It all tells the story of Task Force Ranger dealing with Army Rangers,Army Delta,SEALS,10th Mountain Division,and a combat unit from the Airforce.

The only reason I considered reading this book was because I was in the unit from 10th Mountain that was there. I didn't arrive in 10th Mountain until 1996 gladly missing the conflict. Being that Somalia was a good part of my units history I gave it a try.

This book was the hardest to put down. I just could not imagine how Mr.Bowden doesn't have any military experience and yet writes with such knowledge. He did a great job contacting the former members of the various units and writing about what they saw.

This book would definitely make a great movie in the future. I would be the first to see it. I highly recommend everyone read this book to not only gain knowledge on the incident but to see what the soldiers went through.
