Stenchless, well-designed mower

Date of Review:  Aug 15, 2006
The Bottom Line: I recommend it for those who can't stand 2-stroke noise and stench and don't mind the hassle of a cable
Review: When we moved to our new (very old) house with a big lawn we knew that we wouldn't be able to maintain the yard with our reel-mower. But I cannot stand the noise and stench from two-stroke mowers terrorizing our neighborhood, so I looked for an...

Up In Smoke

Date of Review:  Apr 17, 2004
The Bottom Line: Who knows why this one burned up- Maybe I just got a lemon. Other than the burning up, it's performance was acceptable, and definitely easy to use.
Review: I needed a mower for our .15 acre yard. My husband insisted that a reel mower wasn't going to cut it, since we've got a lot more territory now than our little downtown place did. I looked at some gas mowers, but the maintenance requirements are kind...

Environmentally friendly mower that gets the job done

Date of Review:  Jul 11, 2002
The Bottom Line: Consider it only if your lawn is small. Purchase it if you don't want to deal with gas/oil and/or your environmentally conscious.
Review: Electric vs. Gas
I'm a new home owner and for the first time had to worry about mowing a lawn. I wanted to purchase a lawn mower that would require minimal maintenance and one that fit my budget. My lawn is small less than 1/2 acre so cord...

Good, but not recommended for a yard with trees

Date of Review:  Jul 5, 2004
The Bottom Line: If you have an open yard, this is a great mower. If you have trees to mow around, pick one without a cord instead.
Review: I bought the 875 for my small (50x125) yard because of its simplicity -- no need to deal with running out of gas, pull-starting, etc. Also, it should be more energy-efficient, with less emissions, than a gas mower (although I have no easy way to...

Simple, easy mower

Date of Review:  Aug 19, 2004
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this mower to any healthy person whose grass (less than 40,000 SF) is all within 150? of an outlet.
Review: Review 19 August, 2004:

I recently moved into a house with about 10,000 SF of grass, so I needed a mower. Knowing that gasoline mowers produce significant amounts of pollution (see note 1 at the bottom), I wanted an electric mower. The...

Gets the job done

Date of Review:  Sep 24, 2003
The Bottom Line: This is a great machine for small lawns - easy to use and to maintain, affordable, effective and environmentally friendly. Cord is the main drawback.
Review: I'm a first-time homeowner and when I bought my first lawnmower, I specifically wanted an electric mower to be more environmentally friendly. The MM875 fits that bill and works great on my small lawn.

The MM875 has several selling points...

Break open the piggy bank for the Lawn Hog

Date of Review:  May 22, 2007
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this, the ease of use alone is enough to say that. But saving time and money over a gas mower takes the cake, well worth every penny!
Review: Springtime arrived, and like normal starting the mower was an issue. I pulled it from the basement, cleaned the carb, filled the gas, filled the oil, changed the plugs, and pulled the string until my arm nearly fell and it still wouldn't start. I...

Too Lightweight

Date of Review:  Jun 23, 2003
The Bottom Line: May be good for small lawns, but it's a definite NO for medium and larger.
Review: [Edit: This review has been pretty much panned by... erm... review reviewers. I considered re-writing it to conform to standards, but frankly, it contains is exactly the information I wish I had had when considering the original purchase. You can...

Good electric mower

Date of Review:  Jul 29, 2002
The Bottom Line: A good buy, really easy to use, but get the model without the rear bag unless you really want the grass clippings for mulch.
Review: I have used this mower for a year now, so there are no comments on durability. I bought the mower because I abhor the idea that a gas-powered mower creates so much air pollution, not to mention the noise, frequently unreliable engines and starting...

Mow On!

Date of Review:  Sep 20, 2006
The Bottom Line: Buy It!
Review: Lot : This is a great alternative to the traditional gas mower for small lots. We just moved into a ? acres suburban lot and it took a little convincing to get my husband to put his manly lawnmower appearance aside and try something a little...
