Author's Review
We have been trying to eat better lately and last summer we decided to steam more of our vegetables. Actually my daughter decided that we would eat better and since she is a vegetarian she uses the steamer more than we do. This is a rather small unit but it can hold enough fresh broccoli to feed a family of four. It doesn't take long to steam foods band there is a table included in the manual that gives different steaming times. There is s build it timer on the unit to time processing.
The steamer is easy to clean after use and we usually hand wash it the way recommended by Black & Decker.
The scenter is really neat. You can put in chives, parsley, oregano, bay leaves, lemon rind,or any herb you like the taste of. It really gives vegetables a different taste.
When you're done with fresh vegetables you may want to do clams, scallops, shrimp, fresh fish, chicken, hot dogs, eggs, or maybe just frozen vegetables. Steaming anything is healthier that boiling, frying, or baking, if for no other reason than the increased percentage of vitamins you get when steaming and better taste.
