Author's Review
I purchased this handheld vac for $53, but agonized at the store over this model versus the Dyson handheld (which looked much cooler, and almost lured me with its stronger battery and nice design). After reading reviews here, I think I made a good choice. The B&D vacuum charged quickly, and I went on a handheld vac rampage throughout my house, testing it out on various types and sizes of debris.
Although I haven't measured the battery life, it seems to run well and for quite a while (c'mon, folks, if you need a half hour of battery life for a handheld vac, you probably should be using an upright or, better yet, a shop vac). It has some difficulty getting into tight spaces (window tracks), but is a good performer. I haven't had a handheld vac since my circa 1983 dustbuster, and I was pleasantly surprised by the technology upgrades. I particularly like emptying the canister with this one, which is easy and accessible.
The nozzle folds for storage/charging, which means you have to open it up each time you use it if you store the vacuum in a tight space. Otherwise, I have only positive comments about this machine.
