The mower always starts and creates no allergy inducing fumes!

by   rgathright ,  Sep 25, 2008
Pros: Cordless, quiet and costs $.05 per 4,000 ft to operate.
Cons: Lead-acid batteries, weak battery charger.
The Bottom Line:

A CMM1200 electric, cordless mower is not only good for the environment but will make you the envy of everyone in the neighborhood!

Review: Just like Sarah Palin is shaking up American politics, the Black & Decker Cordless Lawn Mower is changing the way we look at cutting grass. Silent operation that is quieter than a ...

easy easy easy and not smelly

by   tedie ,  Dec 2, 2008
Pros: easy to start, easy to change cutting height,  not smelly
Cons: battery could be more powerful especially if grass is long.
The Bottom Line: Buy one and get rid of that smelly old gas machine.  I will never go back to a gas powered lawn mower.  I love the ease of use.
Review: I have had this lawn mower for two summers now and it is fantastic.  When I see someone I know while I am cutting the grass I often give them a demo of the really cool features.  I let go of the cut-off handle and then with just one finger I ...

Black and Decker Rechargeable Mower

by   macintoshguru ,  Oct 28, 2008
Pros: Starts with the flick of lever. No gas, oil, plugs to mess with.  Quiet.
Cons: Wish they had a self-propelled version for those hilly areas. A little heavy.
The Bottom Line: Quiet, powerful, energy conscious and economical.
Review: I've owned this mower for a little over two years now and it has far exceeded my expectations.  Not having to bother with hauling gas and oil.  No tuneups. Several of my neighbors have commented on how quiet this mower is compared to their gas ...

Convenient and Easy to Use Tool

by   jogreen ,  Jul 22, 2008
Pros: No gasoline and runs very quietly.
Cons: Not convenient for a large yard due to battery charge.
Review: This is an exceptionally easy to use lawn mower and fairly lightweight too. There is very little assembly required other than the mulching bag and the mulch attachment. It is very easy to start as opposed to the cord pull mowers and runs relatively ...

Don't know why I waited so long to get one of these

by   kballs ,  Mar 16, 2008
Pros: No gas/oil, no cord, plastic deck = no rust, decent power.
Cons: Heavy, old-school lead-acid batteries.
The Bottom Line: If you're satisfied with corded electric performance and are considering cordless, don't wait, buy it!
Review: I have been waiting for cordless mowers with better batteries (Firefly batteries, lithium ion, etc.) to come out but it seems like they never release anything even though the technology continues to be "1-2 years out". Better batteries would allow more ...

I'm happy with my mower

by   bananaleaf ,  Feb 16, 2009
Pros: No gasoline required; no pollution; quiet; lightweight, since it's mostly made of plastic
Cons: Limited range on a battery charge; battery needs replaced after a few years
The Bottom Line: Recommended for those who do not want to mess with gasoline, and who do not have large lawns or do not mind a two-day mowing job.
Review: I have had this lawn mower for 7 years and have been pleased with it.  It is so nice not to have to worry about gasoline and oil.  (We haven't been able to find a battery-powered snow blower, so having to mess with gasoline and oil with the ...

Works well as long as the job is not too big

by   dland2000 ,  Nov 18, 2007
Pros: Easy to use, works well on small to medium sized jobs, quiet.
Cons: Short battery life, heavy, flimsy arms.
The Bottom Line: As long as you don't have a large amount of grass to cut, this is recommended.
Review: This review is for the CM1000 model of the Black & Decker 19" 24 volt cordless mower. After learning about how inefficient gas mowers are in terms of pollution, I decided to get a battery powered mower. This mower was pretty much the only option I ...

by   steeeverino ,  May 26, 2009
Pros: Quiet.  Starts quickly. Low daily maintenance. Powerful.
Cons: Expensive (repairs).  Not Green.
