Do NOT buy
Date of Review: Aug 21, 2007
The Bottom Line: I think it's pretty clear what I think here - do not buy this unit. Spend the extra money to get a Hoover or something even nicer.
I bought this unit to replace my Hoover V2 which worked great but, was not very durable over time. The price was right and it was very easy to put together but, I found that it deposited more dirt on my carpet than it picked up!
Every time the unit came to a rest for more than 5-10 seconds it would deposit a line of dirt spots on the carpet in the place where it rested. I used more spot shot on these spots then I did on the rest of the carpet!
Also, the unit would deposit these large fiber balls (hair balls if it were a cat) all over the carpet and I would have to follow this unit around with my Dyson vacuum cleaner (which rocks!).
Finally - where the Hades does the dirty water go? My Hoover had a tank where all the dirty water it sucked back up from the carpet went into. I did 4 rooms with this unit and used nearly three tanks of water. For all that effort, about a quarter of a cup of water was in the area that I surmised to be the return tank. And the way this unit is devised, hot water is put into a bladder which sits in the base of the unit - surrounded by what I suspect is the return tank - yuck!
