High Hopes, Big Disappointment
Date of Review: Jul 28, 2007
The Bottom Line: Maybe I just got a lemon. Lesson learned - if using a carpet cleaner make sure it's working before squirting all your cleaner into your carpet!
I brought this machine and it broke almost immediately. I was able to use this machine only once successfully. I had owned a Bissell before, it was a great machine and I had it for almost eight years before it broke down. This Bissell had 12 rows of cleaning and I expected that Bissell would have improved on their products. The first time I used this machine it did a great job, I couldn't believe all the dirt it picked up, I was very excited. Two days later I decided since the machine did indeed work I would thoroughly vacuum my living room and then give the new Bissell another try. Everything seemed to be going smoothly except that the soap was foaming too much. When I removed the tank to empty it I was expecting to see all the gunk it had picked up but instead to my surprise it had not picked up anything. I reread the manual and checked everything out and could not get the machine to pick up any of the liquid I had just spread all over my living room. I switched to going on my hands and knees to use the hose to suck up all the water. The hose did a very poor job, there was very little suction. It took nearly two hours and I finally used a towel and left the fan running all night so the carpet could dry. Needless to say I am returning this sad machine and running to rent a machine so that mold won't settle into my carpet.
