Bissell 9400 ProHeat 2X Select Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner

This is going to be one of my favorite reviews to write about. I have a puppy and a 4 year old daughter. Now you can imagine what my flat dull carpet must look like. Juice stains, grape soda stains, dog pee and poo stains. You name it and it is there!

Now these are the flat old style carpets that hold and lock the smelly odors that get into them. I tried everything from sprays to scrubbing by hand with a sponge and loads of cleaner then adding perfumes and what not. Nothing worked. It was high time I got out there and bought a carpet cleaning machine. The choice was either to buy one for myself or pay $100.00 for someone to do it. Why should I pay that much? It was easy enough and cheaper for me to just buy one I could use when ever I really needed to. That is pretty often by the way!


So upon looking at many stores. I found the Bissell 9400 ProHeat 2X Select Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner at Home Depot in Rhode Island here where I live. It was on sale and looked like it was just what I needed. I read the product information on the home depot card, and then on the box. Looked at the style and colorings to make sure, and with in a minute it was in my carriage and we were on our way to pay for it. I got to the register and was shocked. The original price was $179.99 marked down to !4.59.00 on the tag. Little did I know that it was also a special item that week, and I paid a total of $129.99 for it!

When I got home I removed it from the box, the directions were read first. Easy to follow, anyone can do this, type of directions. You simply snap the top to the bottom and begin getting your Carpet cleaner ready. Take the water canister out. There is a handle on it, when the handle is back it is locked in place. When you pull the handle forward it is ready to take out. Fill the hole that's open at the top. You only fill to the line near the top. Then put it back into the carpet cleaner.

The canister holds fresh hot water in the middle, when using the carpet cleaner the dirty water fills in the outer side of the canister with no spills into the clean section of fresh hot water.

Cleaners are included, one for major stains and high traffic areas. The other for all carpet and fabric types. Making it easy to use on almost anything. The cleaner smells great, sort of an outdoor spring fresh kind of smell to each one.

You take out the cleaner holder and unscrew the cover and take the tube out, fill to the line with cleaner and close it up again, then put it back. Now your almost ready to go.Plug in your Bissell 9400 ProHeat 2X Select Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner. Make sure the red heat switch in the back is turned on. The water you used is the hottest tap water, but this button allows the water to heat up 20 degrees hotter than that of your hottest tap water! Once heated the red light in the mid front of the carpet cleaner goes on, this is a large round light so you will know when it is ready.

Now to clean your rug/carpet. Simply hold the trigger found under the handle your already holding. The cleaner and hot water are mixed as they come out. You spray and you go forward and the water and cleaner are brushed through your carpet by 6 sets of brushes found in the bottom, when you pull back it extracts the water. The rug feels nearly dry already. If it is a bad spot or stain, just go over it again. It is as easy as that, and it leaves the carpet smelling so good for days afterward.

The next thing is the hand held part. It has a very long hose, great for stair carpets or for couches, chair pads and things like that.This pretty much works the same way. You have the red trigger located at the base of the handle, you simply guide it forward while spraying the cleaner out, Then glide it back, no scrubbing is needed in most cases.

It has to be the best investment I have ever made. It removed an oil stain, grape juice stains, it removed the pee smells and my dog doesn't sniff at that spot anymore, it took away all odors. Red koolaid even came out! I was amazed after all that I had tried this was the only thing that worked and made these shabby carpets look like they were just brand new and just laid down. Amazing! I would never in a million years pay some one to do some thing I can do myself in my own home.

The Bissell 9400 ProHeat 2X Select Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner is light weight and so easy to use. When you are done just empty out the dirty water, rinse out the water canister and your done. My whole parlor took me 15 minutes to do! The best part was that it was dry with in 10 minutes afterward.

I have no been using mine every day for basic spills and for nasty kid or dog messes for the past 6 months. It has never failed to do the perfect job. I would say it is the cleanest carpet I have ever seen that is this old. It doesn't pull on the threads either and is gentle. And the carpet cleaner it's self is not hot on the outside, only on the inside. The hose wraps nice in that back as does the extra long cord. It is really so easy.
