Better Dayz is another posthumous gem .

Date of Review: Jan 2, 2003

The Bottom Line:  Every pac album is a must in any real hip hop heads collection. This is no different.
YOU HAVE ALL HAD THE 2PAC ARGUMENTS WITH YOUR BOYS.MANY FANS STILL BELIEVE HE IS ALIVE.IF THIS IS TRUE THEN HE NEEDS TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO HIS PRODUCTION BECAUSE IS THE WORST THING ON THESE "POSTHUMOUS" LP'S.BETTER DAYZ IS NO EXCEPTION.JAZZE PHA IS THE MOST NOTED AND CREDITED PRODUCER ON DAYZ.I WOULD DEFINETLY EXPECT MORE FROM PAC IF HE REALLY IS ALIVE.

STILL BALLIN' FEATURES A LOST TRICK DADDY TRYING TO IMPRESS US ALL WITH HIS THUG PERSONA.I DONT BUY IT.I HAVE NEVER HEARD EVEN AN AVERAGE SONG BY TRICK AND HE DRAGS THIS ONE DOWN OVER SHADOWING PAC WITH HIS MISSTEPS.YOU ALWAYS REMEMBER THE BAD MORE THAN THE GOOD.

WHEN WE RIDE ON OUR ENEMIES IS TUPAC'S FURY AT ITS FINEST.WHEN HE GETS MAD HE SPEAKS HIS MIND AND THATS WHAT WE ALL LOVE ABOUT PAC'S LYRICS.THIS TIME HE BASHES ON THE FUGEES AND MOBB DEEP YET AGAIN.HOWEVER LYRICALLY IT IS NOT FAR FROM HIT EM UP

Changed Man - I'm just not going to say anything about this weak a** bu**sh*t.Not taking anything from pac and whoever aranged T.I. to appear on this album but T.I. is weak as hammer. This is why i think pac is dead , i dont beleive that pac would ever want to work with anyone like T.I. or Ja Rule and even Nas.

F**k em all has a fined tuned guitar laced beat that blows you away couresy of johnny J.It features the outlawz.Pac opens up taking biggie again.Calling himslef the notorious biggie killer. The otlawz bring their usual backup performances behind pac's fire.

Never B Peace fetures johnny j on the boards again and e.d.i. and Kastro of the oitlawz.

Now of course I want peace on the streets, but realistically
Paintin perfect pictures ain't never worked, my misery
was so deep, couldn't sleep through all my pressures
In my quest for cash I learned fast, usin violent measures
Memories of adolescent years, there was unity
But after puberty we brought war, to our community
So many bodies droppin it's gotta stop, I wanna help
But still I'm steppin, keep my weapon, must protect myself
The promise of a better tomorrow, ain't never reached me
Plus my teachers was too petrified in class to teach me
Sippin Thunderbird and grape Kool-Aid, callin earl
Since my stomach was empty it seduced me to f**k the world
Watch my lil' homies lose they childhoods to guns
Nobody cries no more, cause we all die for fun
So why you ask me if I want peace, if you can't grant it
Ni**az fightin 'cross the whole planet, so it could never be peace

This one is another Pac gem that he sent to us.

Mama's Just A Little Girl is a definite classic about his mother. You can tell he is grateful for his mother's love (iff you didnt already know....see just about every pac album.).it chronicals his mothers struggles through life and gives us a glance at how one of the most respected figures in all of music became the person he is or was today.

Street Fame -
Temperatures rises
Ni**az blinded by my lyrical disguise
No time to plot retreats
Ni**az shiver and die
Multiple rounds found laced
In his body and face
Wrapped in plastic the acid, erased all traces
Criminal tactics the rap game
Became so drastic
Military mind mashed all the walls they blasted
If we bleed then they suffocate
Chokin in terror
So we strive singularize we reflect in the mirrors
The prophecy is clear
Ni**az lock n load disappear
Strategize with no fear
Waging war for years

It is an above average track where pac displays his true lyrical prowess

Thugz Mansion featuring nas is kind of confussing. If im not mistaken pac dissed nas more than once (see Makavelli - 7 day theory)Any way this is superb track dispite the controversy.I like the whole song and i think it is way better than the original.Check nas
I'm just twenty-some-odd years, I done lost my mother
And I cried tears of joy, I know she smiles on her boy
I dream of you more, my love goes to Afeni Shakur
Cause like Ann Jones, she raised a ghetto king in a war

Over all disc one is good * * * *.It has both high and low pts.Mama's Just A Little Girl Is the best song.

Disc 2

I can't get enough of my block remix and i have decided to display all of the lyrics for this song.By far my favorite track on the entire album."on our block we still pray"Peace.

[2Pac]
D*mn, take a ride, to my block
My block, that's right! Heh
Round my motherfu**in way

[Verse One]
They got a ni**a
Sheddin tears, reminiscin on my past fears
Cause sh*t was hectic for me last year
It appears that I've been marked for death, my heartless breath
The underlying cause of my arrest, my life of stress
And no rest forever weary, my eyes stay teary
for all the brothers that are buried in the cemetery
Sh*t is scary, how black on black crime legendary
But at times unnessecary, I'm gettin worried
Teardrops and closed caskets, the three strikes law is drastic
And certain death for us ghetto bastards
What can we do when we're arrested, but open fire
Life in the pen ain't for me, cause I'd rather die
But don't cry through your despair
I wonder if the Lord still cares, for us ni**az on welfare
And who cares if we survive
The only time they notice a ni**a is when he's clutchin on a four-five
My neighborhood ain't the same
Cause all these little babies goin crazy and they sufferin in the game
And I swear it's like a trap
But I ain't given up on the hood, it's all good when I go back
Hoes show me love, ni**az give me props
Forever hop cause it don't stop... on my block

[Chorus: }
Livin life is but a dream
Hard times is all we see (on my block)
Every block is kinda mean
But on our block we still prayyyyyy
But on our block we still prayyyyyy...

[Verse Two]
Now sh*t's constantly hot, on my block, it never fails to be gunshots
Can't explain a mother's pain, when her son drops
Black males livin in hell, when will we prevail
Fearin jail but crack sales got me livin well
And in a sense I'm sucidal with this Thug's Life
Stayin strapped forever trapped in this drug life
God help me, cause I'm starvin, can't get a job
So I resort to violent robberies, my life is hard
Can't sleep cause all the dirt make my heart hurt
Put in work and shed tears for my dead peers
Mislead from childhood where I went astray
Till this day I still pray for a better way
Can't help but feel hopeless and heartbroke
From the start I felt the racism cause I'm dark
Couldn't quit the bullsh*t make me represent
Hit the bar and played the star, everywhere I went
In my heart, I felt alone out here on my own
I close my eyes and picture home... on my block

[Verse Three]
And I can't help but wonder why, so many young kids had to die
Caught strays from AK's and the driveby
Swollen pride and homicide, don't coincide
Brothers cry for broken lives, mama come inside
Cause our block is filled with danger
Used to be a close knit community but now we're all cold strangers
Time changes us to stone them crack pipes
All up and down the block exterminatin black life
But I can't blame the dealers
My mama's welfare check has brought the next man chrome wheels
Sh*t's real, I know ya feel, my tragedy
A single mother with a problem child, daddy free
Hangin out pickin up game, sippin cheap liquor
Gamin the hoochies hopin I can get to sleep with her
It's a man's world, stayin strapped
Fantasies of a ni**a livin phat, but held back
Pipe dreams can make the night seem hopeless
Wide eyed and losin focus... on my block

[Verse Four]
And block parties in tha projects lastin way past daylight
A young ni**a learned to break, right
Used to play fight with my homies but they stuck in the pen
I send them ends, but it's tough on a friend, in my mind
I see the same motherfu**ers ballin
Alcohol will make a lazy ni**a slip and fall, miss his call
I know the young ni**az understand this
Growing up in this world where everything is scandalous
I reminisce on tha fast times, past crimes
Tryin to cop a slice of pizza with my last dime
Can't explain, just what attracts me to this dirty game
Gold chains, some extra change, and the street fame
And what's strange is everybod knows my name, swear they all know me
And lots of cash make a ni**a change
I hit the green just to maintain, feelin pain
For all the ni**az that I lost to the game... from my block

Thugs mansion is the same as the origibal minus the guitar and nas.

Never Call u b*tch again - features pac being humbled by the female.can u blame him.

Better dayz is incredible and 2pac yet again holds out attention .check out these lyrics featured on the liner notes
"Too many murders , too many funerals
and too many tears , Just seen anither brother buried , plus i knew him for years
pass by his family , but what could i say...
keep your head up and try to keep the faith and pray for
BETTER DAYZ"
Military mind is a track from "One Nation".

Catchin' feelin's is a notorious b.i.g. diss

Cross this ni**a here
Now Biggie tell me who do you fear?
Ain't a living soul breathing shall pump no fear here
My last four flashed then I mashed his *ss, bastard
F*ck with me bet I blast your *ss
So many follow but can't reach me
Caught in a maze
Catch em, mimicking my style trying to walk this way
Impossible my posse dropping you, we Death Row riders
No need to beg motherfu**er ain't no mercy inside us
Feeling blessed, the richer I get the more I stress
Smoking lye watching time fly, waiting for death
Dear God I been feeling like I'm close to Jesus

They dont give a f*ck about us shines as pac and his outlawz flow over a dope outdated beat
Cause they don't give a f*ck about us
"Rise, Riiiiise"

The album ends with a spine tingling acaplella
"Expect me ni**a like you expect jesus to come back.
Expect me ni**a i'm coming"

There you go.believe what you want .we will all find out soon enough.Peace
