Author's Review
The Double CD Better Dayz is the sixth 2Pac posthoumous album. The opinions on it are different and, being a 2Pac fan, I will try to have an objective view on this album. The worst thing about this album is the removal of some verses from the orriginal unreleased tracks. For example Marvelous and Storm (two female rappers ) were removed from Never B Peace and Kurupt was supposed to feature on fame. I heard people complain about the bad production on the album. In my opinion the production is far more better than the one on Until the end of time, but of course some tracks have been radically changed from what the originals were. The featurings you should check out: Nas, of course, on Thugz Mansion, The Outlawz on Whatcha Gonna Do,Napoleon from the Outlawz and his brother Mussamill on Cathchin Feelings, the rappers from Military Minds and Kadafi of the Outlawz on Who Do U Believe In.
These are the tracks:
CD1
Still Ballin An average gangsta song but a well chosen start song featuring an average verse from Trick Daddy. It really isnt a bad song.. (7.5/10)
When We Ride On Our Enemies A good remix but the real 2Pac fanz apreciate the original version more. It contains disses to Biggie, Mobb Deep and the Fugees(8.5/10)
Changed Man I dont know what to say about this song. It has a cathchy beat but T.I. has a different style from 2Pac. (7/10)
F*** Em All An aggressive song but not many will apreciate the electric guitar. (8/10)
Never B Peace A society song. It sucks in comparison to the original, the Outlawz are not at their best and the indian-music sample will not be apreciated by many, but I have to say the lyrics of Pacs verse makes it a good track(8/10)
Mamas Just A little Girl A good song about his mothers life (8/10)
Street Fame A preety good song with a great piano sample.(9/10)
Whatcha Gonna Do A very nice beat and Kastro and Young Noble have a great combined verse(9/10)
Fair Exchange A good song with R&B chorus, resembles the classic How Do U Want It (9/10)
Late Night A party song with a Saturday night like sample and a very good verse from Fatal (9.5/10)
Ghetto Star One of the best songs from the album, a song featuring Nuttso. Its a must for every fan that likes that All Eyes On Me sound. (10/10)
Thugz Mansion Nas Acoustic The highlight of the album, a perfect song both lyrically and musically. Nas also puts a great verse on the song. (10/10)
CD2
My Block Remix I havent heard the original version but its a jewel. You can actually feel what he feels through his voice.(10/10)
Thugz Mansion 7 Remix The beat changes the optimistic version with Nas into a misterious track with three verses from Pac (9.5/10)
Never Call U B***h Again Another great love song from Pac, very emotional (9.5/10)
Better Dayz A changes like song. Nothin much to say about it, just a good song overall (9/10)
U Can Call Not a bad song but it resembles Fair Exchange too much (7.5/10)
Military Minds The One Nation album was supposed to feature the greatest rappers from the west coast. Its good the song remained unchanged (9/10)
Fame An average song about the rap game (8/10)
Fair Exchange The remix from Mia is not as good as Jazze Phas, a little too much R & B.(7.5/10)
Cathcin Feelins The original version was formed by a verse by Pac on a simple beat. I think post-production is at its best here. The verse of Napoleon is a blast.(9.5/10)
There U Go A slow tempo song about relationships. Interesting (8.5/10)
This life I Lead An average song (7.5/10)
Who Do U Believe In A dark track about beliefs, has great lyrics and the late Kadafi has a great verse.(10/10)
They Dont Give A F*** About Us A good society song, great message but 2Pacs verse hasnt been mixed right. His voice doesnt have the right volume.(9/10)
2Pac fanz should have in mind that posthoumous albums will alwayz sound different, and compared to Until The end Of Time this is a very good album.
