Good inexpensive midrange card

The S120 DDR 9550 is a good upgrade for computers that are not more than 2 years old. Most computers come with an unused AGP slot, which makes things nice, particularly if you have several PCI slots that are all used up. Not top of the line but a good card for the price. Will play most any games at highest graphics levels (those older than say, 2 years from release). Runs very quiet and has on-card fan. Designed to fit in slimmer cases (but not the slimmest) and most desktop towers easily. Older computers will need to have a minimum 350 watt power supply to run the card, which can be obtained for about the same price as the card itself, and possibly a little less, new.

Most games play very well, save for the most intense first-person shooter games. Handles any graphics programs, Many 3D modelling and CAD programs such as Maya and Bryce. Installation comes with latest DirectX(10) runtime software, installation guide for Windows 98 and newer. Will also run Microsofts newest graphics program Photosynth with ease. Easy installation even with computers that have integrated graphics hardware on the motherboard.

For older computers (3 years and beyond) this is probably the last and best upgrade for them until costs simply point to purchase of a new computer entirely. The card will be useful for some time if not used for the heaviest of graphics applications and games.
