Benny & Joon - Delightful! Worth Owning!

Some movies you can just watch once....NOT this one! From the opening credits and the first beat of the music to the very end of this movie you will completely entertained! This is one of my all-time favorites! This is a story of Benny (Aiden Quinn), a mechanic, trying to keep his sister Joon, (Mary Stuart Masterson) living at home with him, rather than be institutionalized. A story of strong family love and the sacrifices one sometimes has to make to keep family connected. Johnny Dep is brilliant as Sam in this film! Benny wins him in poker game and the story unfolds.....love is everywhere in this film and studied from many different angles. Sam is obsessed with Buster Keaton, the old silent film star and dresses like his character. You can't help but fall in love with Johnny Dep in this part! By far my favorite scene in this film is the one in the diner where he does the dancing feet to the background music with 2 dinner rolls speared at the end of two forks!!!! He is just magical!!!!!!!!!

Keep your eyes sharp while watching this film......the little aside comments, make the movie!, and are easily missed if you aren't paying full attention! This is a wonderful story that can't help but leave an impression! There are times you will roar with laughter at Sam's feats of wonder and times when your heart will ache.....but it's a very sweet love story you will want to see over and over!
