Find a different humidifier

I purchased the 4D7 800 / White Essick Air humidifier in December of 2006. It worked fairly well for through the end of March 2007, when I didn't need it anymore. I cleaned it up and put it away (in the original box).

This year we had a damper fall/ early winter, so I didn't pull it out until January. I plugged it in, and it worked for two days, then the fan motor bearings burned out. I called Essick, but since it was past 1 year I got no help. I sucked it up and bought a new fan and put it in, and we were rolling again.

Today is Feb 16, and the motor bearings on the new(?) fan have burned out again. I'm going to call up and hopefully get them to ship me a new one, but c'mon! I don't have to do this much maintenance on my major appliances.

I strongly recommend against buying this product. We are moving to a new house, and I've installed an AprilAire whole house humidifier there. Hopefully I'll have better luck with that.
