A spirit that leaves you full of...spirit..!!
Date of Review: Dec 29, 2000
Usually one does not associate a particular flavor with Vodka, unless they buy a vodka with a citrus finish. With Belvedere though; one of Polands finest Vodka's... The worlds capital of fine vodkas... is different. It definatly doesn't just have a dry and medicinal taste, that makes you feel like you are trying to knock out a cold. It has a strong after taste and a burn. However the after taste is not just of Vodka, or alcohol. It is of a sweet and heavy flavor like toffee, or honey.
The Vodka goes down smoothly, and may be consumed on the rocks. It is fairly expensive so that you may drink it on it's own which is a good thing. when I spend thirty dollars for a small amount of Vodka; I want to be able to savor it.
I love the spirit, but hate the expense of it. One of these days I need to go to Poland and bring cases and cases of it home.
Who should buy this spirit you ask... Polish people who are homesick for good vodka. anyone who enjoys clear liquors, would certainly enjoy this drink. People who like a dry martini....
Who should not buy it? My husband, who hates strong drinks that remotely taste of alcohol. If that sounds like you, don't buy Belvedere Vodka...
Because of the expense I'd sat Belvedere is a special ocassions drink. However, if you've got money buy it. It would be appropriate to drink at any time (exept while driving) but is a favorite during holidays.
Most foods go well with this spirit. I do recommend it during cocktail time, and appetizer time. I also recommend it as an after dinner drink. Or to be served with a fine dinner.
