Bel 965 is all you need in my state.

I bought this radar detector after spending many years using Cincinnati Microwave products. The reason for changing brands was the fact that every review that I read stated that this detector gave you the most for the best price. It does just that.
The almighty law enforcement powers that operate here in the state of Minnesota have all gotten together and decided that Sheriff, State Patrol and local police would switch to a great new technology called "ka band". In their infinite wisdom, they put virtually all of the radar units in the state on a unique band that shares it's frequency with nothing else. Meaning, all radar detectors will give false alerts as x, k, and even some other bands share the same frequency as security systems and door opening systems. Ka band is unique and shares it's frequency with nothing else in this state. In summary, my Bel 965 is very sensitive to ka band and not only picks it up easily, every time it chimes out ka, it is a police radar!
