Belkin F5X007 XM Radio Receiver

I bought mine to use my Audiovox Express receiver indoors and outside.It has great sound much better then I thought.It has a built in antenna that works good outside.However has trouble indoors unless close to a southern wall.However it does unplug so you can use a separate indoor antenna that was included with mine.However many report theres did not include the extra antenna.It is a directional antenna that you aim in a southern exposed area and works great for me indoors.

Sound quality is very good I expected less.It is suppose to be somewhat water proof so using it around the beach or pool should not be a problem.You lift the lid to dock your XM receiver and then close the lid to protect it from the element's comes with a credit card style remote control.So you do not have to open the door to change channels.Volume changes can be made from the remote or from the front of the boom box.It also has a head phone jack.

It is powered by 8 C cell batteries or AC current.Battery life is not the best when you have to buy these batteries.Around 4 hours so you might want to consider rechargeable batteries.My complaint is if you turn the XM radio off there is still power going through the boom box.So this will drain the batteries when it is not in use.Why it does not have a on off switch is beyond me?You have to remove a battery to cut the power.

My nest complaint is the power supply is not built into the unit.It is a separate brick that plugs into the unit.So when plugged into AC you have the power brick taking up space.You also have to unplug the cord to cut the power like mentioned with the batteries.I use mine often so I do not but if it sets for a long period I would think it should be unplugged from the outlet.

My last complaint is minor.Why did they make it White?I would think black or silver would have been better.But over all I like mine and would do it again I love XM.
