Dangerous and Unreliable

I run the QA systems for a small business, which we moved to a different area leaving the old UPS devices behind. I purchased 2 of these things initially to try them out. We left them to charge overnight as recommended, and the next day we tested them. One of them basically turned off along with the power. Great. We did the test and it said bad battery. So we tried to order a replacement battery. After over 50 minutes on the phone we discovered the device is so new there isn't a replacement battery so we got a ticket for a replacement unit and transferred to another number. Thanks to a speakerphone and some work I needed to get done I could manage to sit for almost another hour and a half before I just gave up. I sent them an email, who knows where that will go. Then things went from bad to worse. I ordered another pair of them, as the one that worked seemed to work well and I was willing to accept that I was just unlucky with the second one. Bad move. The second two arrived, and I plugged those in for an overnight stint. After about 2 minutes or so there was a loud cracking and snapping noise along with bright sparks and smoke coming out of one of them. We turned it off. 2 out of 4? Too scary for me, I'd be afraid to leave these things running in my absence it might burn the whole office down. For me, customers have basic expectations from your products, and if you can't meet those then stay out of the business.
