A ride around Beijing

It has been a while since I have watched a proper Chinese movie. When I picked this up, not much was written at the back of the cassette box.

I personally enjoyed this movie. This of course being that I understand the language. It revolves around the lives of youngsters in the metropolis Beijing.

Two young man in their teens were struggling to survive. One, a country boy who strives to earn a living, and the other, a city school-boy who wants to be like his friends - to have a bicycle.

There are lots of chasing around in this movie which practically drags it a little. Other than that, it is fun to watch. There are some humor now and then. I wouldn't recommend it to the non-drama fans.

If one is interested in knowing life and culture in the East, I would say go ahead. It is certainly not a waste of money or time, just be ready for something serious. Some scenes can be touching, and sad.
