Pros: Crisp and clear shooting; interesting storyline.
Cons: Only when Geui doesn't explain himself and you go nuts.
The Bottom Line: I feel like I take my bike for granted now...gonna have to ride it some more this summer.
Review: Movie #5 of my film class (ah, many more to go!) and in fact, I liked this even better than the movie Wang Xiaoshuai based his idea off of, B

Cons: Probably too slow for most Western viewers, sad; not for lovers of action, special effects.
The Bottom Line: Interesting depiction of conflict centred around a bicycle in contemporary Beijing; sincere and authentic portrayal by director and all actors; some violence; sad ending.

Pros: Realizing the tough life in poorer countries, learning that stealing is bad!
Cons: Too sad. Geui, the courier isn't gutsy enough.
The Bottom Line: Recommended ONLY if you can take a sad story with a big upset, feeling bad for someone who's not bold/courageous AND hatred to someone for the whole movie.
Review: This movie is very sad. It's about this hardworking, stubborn courier (Guei) who gets his bike stolen. He amazingly finds it and gets his job back, but the boy who has it (Jian) bought it second-hand using money stolen from his parents. The scenes keeps ...
