Author's Review
Saturday's entertainment is going to Costco, joining several hundred others with the same idea of shopping and eating. There's something about the aroma of food while mingling with strangers and nibbling unusual tidbits, sort of, Fair like. As the grocery list and distractions filled our cart, I stopped to taste the mango salsa, eying my excited fifteen year old approaching me saying, "Mom, you've got to taste this." Anxiously he awaited my judgment. The chartreuse liquid was lite and refreshing, I followed as he told me of this guy doing a demo near the frozen foods. Skeptically watching the man put chunks of raw veggies into a beaker, I wondered what he could create. That's when I saw the bamix, he put it into the beaker, moving it over the veggies and in minutes they were minced, literally mush, he then added a little tomato juice, switched blades, gave it a whirl and wallah, fresh V-8. It was amazing. The clean up was only three seconds and he switched blades again, poured 1% milk into the beaker and made whipped cream. Another quick clean up and switching of blades, he made sorbet with fresh fruit and ice. I had to have this toy, after all, I'm the culinary teacher, I can justify the purchase. I took the bamix to school and demonstrated it to the students, I should get royalties. They loved it. I took the bamix home to live with me because it makes weekend cooking quicker and easier and it gives me an opportunity to be adventurous without the major clean up.
