Author's Review
The good folks at Black Isle Studios have done it again, They have added to the original story in such a way that you can't help but be hooked.
The story of your character, who just happens to be the son of the God of Murder among many others is forced to face the fact a lot of his half brothers and sisters wish to kill all of their other siblings. This time thought, you have to face some of the really powerful ones but you do get the chance to recruit at least a couple of your siblings to help you. Imoen and Sarevok, who have been involved in the story since the first few minutes of the Balder's Gate.
Depending on your chosen allignment (Good, neutral or evil), you will be faced with trying to be nice to people to get answers, and sometimes having to kill them just for the heck of it and stil get your answers. Your personnal choice will have consequences one way or another.
The best part in this added package is how a lot more humour has been added to even the most mundane of converstions and situations, such as when your friends Minsk has "frolicked" in some suspicious bushes with his miniature giant space hamster friend, boo, he develops an itch to anoy the most evil undead imaginable and requests from his chosen "witch", Aerie, to concoct some salve to help him out. And it just continues from there. You have an over excited Mephit butler who will help you upgrade or create weapons and equipment for you, old acquaintences who tend to pop out of the picture and even the celebrated bard Volo who makes a cameo appearence.
The only problem I came up with for this game is the need for a fairly fast machine. It is not different in requirements from Balder's Gate 2. But it certainly makes it hard for people who tend to use things and equipment until it breaks down. Then again the whole industry is based on keeping a need for faster and better machines going.
I would recommend this game to anyone who likes roleplaying, especially Dungeons and Dragons. This is as close as it gets to playing the pen and paper game by yourself or even with friends on a computer.
