Get the !@$#* Off My Knee Kid!

When you go to the mall every year to see that Santa that reeks of Alcohol and canned tuna, have you ever really wondered what kind of sad screwed up life he leads? Well apparently Billy Bob Thornton did. Either that or he must have actually had a job being one!

Thornton is rude, crass, obnoxious, drunk and nasty as can be in this feel good film for the season. He's mean and sorry and this fat kid shows up every day bothering him. The kid really thinks he's Santa and Billy Bob ends up crashing at the kids house because no one is there but his senile grandma. Billy decides he could use a nice place to flop. He fills the place with women and alcohol and of course, a total different kind of Christmas hilarity ensues!

Along the way, Santa and the fat kid become friends. Sort of. He feels sorry for the kid and wants to be there to help the kid out but he still can't bring himself to change his ways. He really only does the Santa gig so he and his midget sidekick can sneak in the mall at night to rob the place but he begins to fell guilty about it.

The comedy is so funny it will give you a stomach ache and I can't really go into specific because I would have to sensor it too much. The whole way through, even though Santa is a total SOB, you can see that he really wants to be a good guy and you find yourself rooting for him even though you can't believe it. As much as there is the crudeness and hilarity, it's done in such an intelligent way. Nothing is done as just a gratuitous laugh. And at the end, you may even find yourself crying. You'll have to watch to see if he finally find out if Santa finds redemption or not. We should all be glad someone finally had the cajones to do a Christmas film with some bite to it!
