Great Carrier for Happy Baby AND Plus-Size Parents

Date of Review: May 30, 2005

My husband and I are both on the plus size side of life and were concerned that even the XL wouldn't work. (At the time the baby was born, he was 5'11" and 400lbs. But he's already lost 150!) The XL seemed like our best option.

I find the Bjorn especially helpful when I'm out shopping with my toddler. I can put the toddler in the shopping cart and carry the baby in the Bjorn.

I, personally, like the Bjorn for when the baby's older and you still need a free hand. We've taken the baby to a college football game. The baby (who was about a year at the time) could see the game but we didn't have to worry about either keeping the baby on our lap or using our hands to hold the baby the whole time.

It can be a little confusing to get the straps situated the first time. But once you get comfortable with the Bjorn adjusting and readjusting is easy.

Pros
Convenient place to "park" baby, very durable
Cons
Some difficulty on initial setup, not a lot of support when front-facing baby falls asleep
