Z4 The AMERICAN Car in Germany

Date of Review: Apr 22, 2003

The Bottom Line:  Drive one, It has what I call the Grin Factor. Get in accelerate and SMILE(It takes a few hours for the Grin to go away).
I love the side Profile of the Z4, with its Modernized 70s Vette look. The Rear is all Maseratti Spyder. The front? oh well we can't have everything be perfect. The Body is Rock solid, I drive mine on side roads daily and on the Autobahn every weekend. I live in upper Bavaria and take Microsoft classes in Munich every Saturday to renew my MCSE/MCT certification. Believe me I am no light foot, I cruise at 130-170 Kmh on side roads and 160-250 on the Autobahn where 230 is my average. I have not been able to retrieve any flex from the body, unlike my 89 IROC Z28 which seemed to be loose from the day I picked it up at the dealership. I believe that the Z4 is even more solid than my 2003 320d(150hp diesel wagon) which is also lowered(BMW M Suspension)and has 245s on 17" rims.

Recommended to buy: Yes

Pros
It's Bad, It's Fast and it MAKES you SMILE!
Cons
A few sharp edges too many, but at 250Kmh on the Autobahn? Who Cares!
