Never thought I'd love the 530i more than my VW!
Pros:
Luxurious, accelerates with ease, lots of features/options, SUV type options, lots of cargo space, QUIET
Cons:
Poor interior storage, poorly marked interior controls, expensive to buy and keep up
The Bottom Line:
The perfect family sedan but not a soccer-mom-mobile! Could be driven for any occasion... business, family, road trip, you name it. Would recommend!

Author's Review
I got married last year, and my husband and I had 4 cars between us, and only one had 4 doors, this 530i that his father had left him after he passed away 6 months after he had bought it. When we talked about which cars to keep I must admit I was a little miffed about having to give up my cute little VW beetle for a 4 door car, but I figured what the heck, it's too impractical to just have 2 door cars as we might start a family some day. Holy cow have I learned to love it though, I can't imagine driving anything else!
Standard features include a 10-speaker sound system with a CD player, power everything, a moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, steering wheel mounted stereo controls, rear AC, power front seats (with memory ladies!!) a tilt and telescoping steering wheel which also gets recorded in memory along with the side mirrors. Other features include antilock brakes, stability control system, dynamic brake control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, front side-impact airbags and head protection airbags for front and rear occupants. Stylish and safe! My car has an automatic 3.0-liter six cylinder engine with 225 horsepower. It also has an awesome "sport" mode which throws it into an auto-manual setting and lets you have more control. The leather seats are incredibly comfortable and totally adjustable in more ways than I could ever imagine. The real wood trim is very luxurious and the trunks has tons of cargo space. The stability control, or as I call it the "Hand of God", has been a lifesaver in wet situations. It's hard to get used to because it just puts you back in the right position before you skid! Very very little road noise in this car, a great, smooth quiet ride.
What I don't like about the car is its complete lack of interior storage. The cupholders are completely useless for anything but aluminum cans, and even when used for that they block the stereo and AC. Then because there is a rear AC there is no storage console between the front 2 seats. There is an armrest, but it doesn't open for CD's, etc. There is just one little change opening underneath it that is virtually pointless. There is ok door storage pockets but they don't quite make up for it. You also need a rocket science degree to figure out the onboard computer lol.
Overall I love this car, it is very luxurious and drives like a dream. I would highly recommend it, or another BMW, to anyone looking for a nice luxury car and as the money to spend.
