Author's Review
I have just had my first baby 5 weeks ago and decided that I would breast feed until the tender age of one. This was going well until I got the symptoms of mastitis.
A friend of mine recommended that before forking out the $100 or so dollars on a breast pump, that I try one out. She lent me her Avent one.
Anyway, long story short, found the pump to be brilliant and decided to buy my own.
I ordered my pump online through the Aussie Avent site, and decided that I would need the extra bottles- just in case I wanted to freeze some, encourage hubby to feed the little tiger, or in the case of an emergency.
The Newborn Starter Set is brilliant for all this and more. It gives you two of the 4 oz bottles and three of the 9 oz bottles. The fact that they fit both of Avent's current pumps is a great bonus as you don't need to umm and arr about which set to get. Also, if you are in the market for a new pump, you can "upgrade" to their new pump without having to get all new bottles.
Additionally, the set includes a bottle cleaner, which is an absolute must. It isn't one of those dodgy ones either- good and solid and gets into the hard to clean spots.
The pack also includes two additional Newborn teats, and two pacifiers. I am yet to test these, however if they are like the rest of Avent's stock, they will be brilliant.
All the bottles come with caps, which provides the safety to travel with the bottle without any sealing disks.
