Pretty Good Warmer

Generally I was pretty happy with the Avent Express Bottle & Food Warmer. I only used it to warm formula & milk, though. I never got to warming food.

I really liked the look of the warmer. I thought that it was a clean & attractive look. That is the main reason why I chose it.

It has a heat setting that you can warm at a low to high heat with three settings. The down side is that there is no timer. They do provide a chart with recommended times on the unit itself. I found the chart a little ambiguous. It was all with drawings of bottles & recommended times. It was a little hard to distinguish the drawings of bottles. I found myself guessing.

Because there was no timer in the unit, you have to set your own timer or watch and check the bottle temps as it is easy to overheat.

Theoretically it warms the milk uniformly without hot spots that can be found in a microwave. I think that it worked this way. I started warming in a glass container in the microwave, though, and just shaking the bottle well to mix up the milk up. For me, this is faster with much less clutter on the counter. Kids sure have a way of cluttering up the house and I like to minimize this.

The cord was nice & thick. It wrapped easily around the unit to minimize loose cord on the counter. There was a easy on/off toggle switch. It would help if it would light up when on because it was easy to forget to switch the unit off.

The unit was easy to clean. The inner basket came out easily to clean the heating element. Drain off the water with each use to minimize calcium buildup.

It came with an extra plastic cup & lid and spoon. I didn't use any of these. Just a nice little extra if you use it. A gimmick if you don't.
