Author's Review
Personally I am terrified of identity theft and don't want other people knowing my business so a shredder has become a great importance to have around. The Aurora AS890C 8 Sheet Crosscut Paper/credit Card Shredder with Basket shreds not only paper but also, credit cards, staples, and even paper clips.
IT'S SO EASY TO USE!
Plug it in, and switch to your preference of rev, off, or auto. The maximum shred is about 8 sheets of paper, and one credit card. 1-3 pieces shreds with great ease but when it gets to four and up it starts to shred a little slower and it starts to growl a little.
AUTOMATIC STOP
Worried about overflow? Well stop! The Aurora AS890C has an automatic sensor and stops before the mess starts. Even if it's half way through eating papers it pauses to let you know it's almost time overflow. It also has a clear little window that allows one to view how full it becomes over days, weeks, months, and I suppose for some, even years.
CONFETTI STYLE
The crosscut size is: 1/5" x 1 17/20. The pieces are small enough that I feel safe throwing them out. Sometimes it's hard to think that the lifeless people are out putting shreds back together and I don't want it to be mine.
STORAGE
The Aurora AS890C is rather small so it makes storage easier. I personally place mine on the inside of my desk where it's main purpose is to be out of sight. It's still small enough that I still have me wiggle room for footsies and I don't feel cramped.
The price range for the Aurora AS890C 8 sheet crosscut paper/credit card shreder with basked is between 40-50 dollars. I feel it is worth the money, I also feel that it is a fairly decent shredder. I shred credit cards, I shred through staples and paper clips that I am too darn lazy to take off and apart, and YES I shred between 5-7 pieces of paper at a time. That's what this machine was designed for and It's wonderful.
