Audiovox D1812 is an outstanding performer!
Pros:
I just can't put any words together but outstanding, outstanding, outstanding!
Cons:
Unit gets warm when being used either by the AC adaptor or by the battery.
The Bottom Line:
Overall the quality of the unit is what brought me to buy this unit and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a full feature personal dvd player!

In all the years of traveling, this is a must have!
Never in my life have I enjoyed a vacation like this past week because I had the opportunity to view movies and past season TV shows like "24" when I was in Jamaica where they only have two local channels.
Since I live in NYC, I've visited B&H Photo store which is one low priced and knowledgeable electronic store around and the service is fast and outstanding.
Anyway, I've decided to buy the Audiovox D1812 because I wanted an 8 inch screen with a few bells and whistle but simple to use!

Beside what is listed above, you have the choice of playing movies in widescreen or full. I highly recommend getting all DVD's in the widescreen version because it views a lot better without elongating or squatting (Distortion) the picture.
Also it comes with two personal headsets which sound better than the tiny speakers that is mounted on the base, and a bag that holds the unit on the back seat of a car if you travel by car to entertain the kids while traveling on those long distant car trips.
This unit is a great buy because the colors and the clarity of the screen is by far the best I've seen in this price range.
If there's one complaint I would make is that some the features of the remote control should be on the base of the unit but that is small potatoes that really would not count for much!
I think this is a good product to own and this is worth buying if you are in the market for a personal DVD player.
